Mother's Day

Seeing as how Mother's Day was the day after my reunion, I was a little tired! But it was good none the less! We celebrated with brunch at Mattito's and I don't know who was more excited, me or Olivia?! She loves their brunch! Must be the mimosas! ;)

And yes, Jack was there, we just didn't get him in the picture, he was on the other side of the table! Sorry bubba!
Perhaps the best part of my day was this note that Olivia wrote 100% on her own! She was probably confused as to why I was crying as I read it, but I was sure to explain they were tears of happiness and love!
I am beyond blessed by these two beautiful children the Lord has put in my care! I've said it before but I always feel like I should be the one doing the thanking on Mother's Day! Without my 2 precious gifts I wouldn't have a day to celebrate!

Fifteen Year High School Reunion

Could I feel any older writing that just now!? Where, oh where, has all the time gone?

A couple of weeks ago an "old" friend of ours had a mini/unofficial high school reunion for our graduating class, and really for anyone who graduated from our high school, at the bar he owns in downtown Dallas. So my oldest and dearest friends and I made a girls night of it and all went together! We had way too much fun and were out entirely too late! Needless to say, we are definitely not as young as we used to be! ;)

As usual, I did not get enough pictures of everyone! It was so much fun seeing so many people I haven't seen in literally 15 years! I've decided I think we need a reunion every year!

Fun with the Fam!

Last weekend the Bumpa and Gigi and Ryan came up to visit for the weekend! We had so much fun with them and truly loved having them here! I realized how much I miss having family nearby! It was nice to just relax, visit and see the kids playing with their grandparents whom they love oh so dearly! So, B&G, we are ready for you to move back! ;)

We were blessed with wonderful weather to boot! AND we let Olivia play hookie from school on Friday! She wasn't too keen on the idea at first but after some persuasion she caved and come Friday, she was so glad she had!

Here are a few pics from Friday... we grilled out and enjoyed the wonderful weather!

Gigi and "Aunt" Nicole

I had to throw this pic in, it's the only one I have of Jack! He's indulging his sweet tooth and trying to figure out which flavor cupcakes to bake next! ;)

Denny and Uncle Tim during a game of washers

Uncle Ry and Bumpa

And Olivia's MOST favorite person on earth, Aunt Nic! They played "tennis" while the boys played washers! Nicole is so great with our kids, they love her to pieces, and so do we!

Olivia and her heroine!

We are anxiously awaiting our next visit from this crew!
We love you!!!

Wrapping up April

Here are some random pictures from the rest of our April!

Jack after his bath one night demanded to put on his new Crocs and go outside... with no shirt!
Olivia's class performed during their weekly Friday Morning Live assembly and her class were sheep!

They sang a couple of cute songs for everyone!

Jack's new found joy... climbing in the tub and playing while Olivia uses the bathroom!

And his other new found love, playing ring-around the tree!
Thankfully now we have flowers and they have managed to keep him out of the beds!

He loves anything that is his big sister's and PINK!

So, I am almost caught up! Wahoo!!!

Easter Sunday

I will make this brief as there are many pictures! But we had a wonderful Easter! The kids woke-up, found their Easter baskets, played for a bit and we headed to church. We then came home, had lunch and the kids hunted their eggs! It was a nice, warm day for a change. I really don't think we've had a warm Easter since Olivia was born. We have always been wearing coats or hunting inside even one year, so we truly enjoyed this year's weather!

Jack took no time dismantling his basket
Olivia shortly followed suit

Their Easter best!

This boy is trouble!

And a performer!

Ready to hunt some eggs!

I love this picture...
Jack has spotted an Elmo Easter egg and was so excited he dropped his basket in order to run to it and pick it up! He is yelling, ELMO!!!

Olivia had a lot of fun enjoying most the eggs to herself!

After Jack was done hunting, which wasn't long, he wanted the toys out of the garage.

Guess he decided he'd take a seat and wait for us to fulfill his request for toys!

AH! I could just eat him up!
Yea!!! I am finally done with Easter!
All gun gow, as Jack would say.

Isle de Bois

For some reason I am having a really hard time getting motivated to update my blog this year! I would just jump to what we've been doing, but being the perfectionist I am, I have to close out Easter first. So please excuse my extreme laziness and you can just skip these posts since all of us are way past Easter and ready for SUMMER!!!!

Just in case anyone wants to know... Denny, Olivia, Jack and I all met some of our other friend's families up at Isle de Bois at Lake Ray Roberts for an Easter egg hunt the weekend before Easter. The kids had a great time and so did the adults!

All the kids ready to hunt for their eggs!

Jack was more interested in playing with the balls!

Checking out their loot

After hunting eggs we walked down to the beach at the lake and let the kids play in the sand, and yes, even the water! It was freeeezing! Thankfully they didn't ask us to join them! :)

I should have clarified that after the egg hunt the women went down to the beach to watch the kids and the guys did this..... They said they had to "protect" our stuff! Denny being the helpful, sweet hubby he is took Jack for me! So he is just one of the guys!

Denny spent most of his time on the playground with Mr. Jack

We finally got the guys to come down and join us and Jack had a blast stealing everyone's (and I mean everyone's) snack while they were out playing!

There were water balloons too!

The mommies

I love this picture!
If you haven't been to Isle de Bois, I highly suggest it. It's not Destin or anything, but it's also less than 30 minutes from home!
