High School Musical on Ice

On Saturday Denny, Olivia and I met up with our very good friends, Summer and her daugher Macy, to see High School Musical on Ice! It was really a lot of fun! For being a kid's movie, Denny and I have enjoyed both of their movies. And for as much as I have to listened to the CDs, I know and love the songs almost as much as Olivia. I definitely know all the words! So it was not too painful to go see the show!

Olivia was excited, but it was difficult for her to understand exactly what the show was all about before we got there. We tried to explain as best we could, but just finally told her to wait and see, we promised she'd like it!

A few pics before we left the house

Waiting in the snowcone line

As soon as we walked in the doors, the girls were enamored with all of the activity and "treat" possibilities! They decided on a snowcone in a souvenir cup! I didn't think the price was too bad, $12. However, Olivia then decided she wanted a snack. So we gave her the option of popcorn, nachos, hot dog, or cotton candy. Which one do you think Olivia chose? Of course, the cotton candy! We got in line and I really about passed out when they gave us our total... $12!!!!! However, it did come with a super cool metallic silver hat (pictured below!). Well worth the $12 right?! Not only was it over priced, but by the time we made it to our seats, all she wanted was my $2 popcorn! :)

When the show first started Olivia was a little overwhelmed with the lights and loud sound. She enjoyed the first act, but at intermission we had Macy come sit with us for the 2nd act, and then she really found her groove! The girls were so cute dancing in their seats! During one song, Bet On It, Olivia was dancing like I have never seen! I'm not sure what got into her but it was hysterical!!! I only wish I had a video of it (it was too dark!). I couldn't breathe I was laughing so hard!

You can't tell it from the picture, but this is Liv as she watched them sing and dance to what I thought was her favorite song, no dancing obviously (this was during the 1st act!)!
The aforementioned hat... I think Olivia's face says it all!
Much better!
Here are the girls on our way home after all of the excitement! They are too CUTE!!!
I know Olivia had a great time! All day yesterday she kept asking to go back and see it again! So as a 2nd choice, she and Denny watched High School Musical 2 last night!

Easter Sunday

Easter was a lot of fun this year! Saturday night Olivia was so excited about Easter and the Easter Bunny she could not sleep. In fact she kept calling down to us asking if the noise she had just heard was the Easter Bunny. It was so cute. I really couldn't tell if she was just excited or a little nervous about him coming in the house! But she finally fell asleep and when she woke up the next morning she was on the hunt for what he had brought her!

Looking outside and spotting her prize!
Hauling in her goods!
Eying her chocolate Easter Bunny
Her new flip-flop pajamas
Sorry about the hair in the face! This was the only decent shot I could get of Olivia looking at the camera! Overall I think she loved her basket of goodies! She got some stickers, and Etch-a-scetch, a Care Bears movie, some gardening gloves, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, etc....
After the fun playing with everything in her basket was over, it was time to get ready for church! Olivia could not wait to put on her new dress and shoes, which she may have been most excited about! She is a true girl, shoes seem to be a passion of hers!

All dolled up and ready to go to church! I just love Olivia's dress this year! I thought it was so cute, and something different! I only wish we didn't have to cover it up with a boring sweater! The last two Easters have been so chilly! But the shoes were just as precious, and they did not have to be covered up! I can see why she liked them so much!
The night before Easter Sunday Olivia colored several pictures for her teacher at church and was eager to get there to give them to her, and see her good friend Kennedy too, of course!

A rare picture of Mommy and Olivia
Here they are! Olivia and Kennedy at church! They are the best of buds and always look forward to seeing each other! They even had matching sweaters on Easter!
When we got home from church, there was no delaying the long anticipated Easter egg hunt!

And she's off...

Look at that look of determination! She really did not want to get in the dirt, but wanted that egg! :)
Trying to figure out how to get that egg...
Back in the warmth of the indoors checking out her loot!
And I took this picture only because I thought it was so funny that she had grouped everything that was inside her eggs. As she opened each egg, she would place whatever was inside in the appropriate pile! I have no idea where she gets that from!
We had a great Easter and hope that you and your family did as well!

Coloring Eggs

There has been so much going on around here, I am a little delayed in posting all of our Easter fun!

Last Saturday, March 22nd that is, we took some time out from unpacking to color some eggs with Olivia. She had seen the box I had bought to do it several days before and had been very patiently waiting coloring and decorating eggs!

After the coloring on the eggs had dried, Olivia couldn't wait to decorate the eggs. There were princess stickers and glitter to adorn them! She had a blast... and I think daddy even had fun!

Olivia's Easter Party at School

On Thursday Olivia had her Easter Party at school! It was a little chaotic as we were closing on our new house that morning as well. So I was juggling the party and making last minute arrangements for the closing. But everything ended up great and Olivia had a lot of fun of course!

Well, she had fun after the pin the tail on the bunny game. Olivia is NOT into being blindfolded. And this time was no exception. She was not going to wear that blindfold under any circumstances and therefore, didn't get to play the game. Unfortunately, I think she ruined it for the rest of the girls in her class! After they saw her panic, they were not up for it either. But the boys had a blast! :)

After the game it was on to their craft. They built a foam Easter Bunny. It was really cute, but the glue did not hold the oh so small parts so well. We finally finished and it was on to a yummy snack of Easter egg donuts!!! If only there were enough for the moms too! :)

Sawyer enjoying her snack!

Cousin Gray's Birthday Party

Last Saturday we headed out to Keller to celebrate Gray's 2nd birthday! It was a lot of fun and we got to see all of our family on the Gray side, which was nice!!!

The birthday boy about to make a run for it!
Gray is such a doll! He makes the silliest faces and has the funniest expressions. I love to just sit and watch him! And he is definitely all boy! I am scared! :)

Here are a few pictures that really take Mel, Liz, and me back! Watching Laurel, Olivia and Presley play is like rewinding our lives about 20something years! Laurel is Mel, bossing us all around, Olivia is me, obeying properly, and Presley is Liz, not having any part of taking instruction! It is so fun that we all have girls that are spaced out in age almost the same number of years as us!

Fun in the snow!!!

Finally! I am posting some more pictures from our frolic in the snow, which was well over a week ago! Sorry for the delay, I'm sure you were all on the edge of your seats awaiting an update! :)

As soon as Denny got home that afternoon, it took him over 2 hours by the way, we all bundled up and headed out! I quickly realized that none of us really have any good snow gear! So, we did the best we could and didn't stay out too long!

Olivia all bundled up

Look at all that snow... and it's still coming down!

Olivia building a snowball

Daddy building a snowman

Our snowbunny with her snowmen!

The snow was absolutely beautiful. I can't remember a time we've ever gotten this much snow at once. It was a lot of fun. But 2 days worth is about all this family can handle! We are definitely ready for spring, which seems to have finally sprung!!!!

A Winter Wonderland

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday it was sunny and in the 60's. Today it is gray, snowing, sleeting, and in the 30's. I went to pick Olivia up from school a little early because it was getting really nasty outside. It has snowed and sleeted earlier this afternoon, but then it started raining again and melted a lot of the snow on the ground. Which is how it was when we got home about 2:20. We went up to take a bath and get comfy in some pjs, and when I came downstairs, not 30 minutes later, this is what it looked like outside. No joke, in about 30 minutes, we had HUGE snowflakes and snow was covering everything. It is wild!!! I haven't been brave enough to actually get on some gear and take pictures from beyond the inside of my front door. But I have a feeling that later we will be building a snowman! :) We are expected to get 2-6 inches tonight!

Olivia is thrilled! She is getting to hang out, cuddle up and watch some movies, and then later or tomorrow morning we'll go out for some fun!!!! I'll be sure to post more later!

Confirmation

So I went in on Tuesday for another sonogram. It was really just to check a cyst on my ovary, but the sonographer didn't think she'd even see my ovaries, much less a tiny cyst. So after finding my ovaries with relative ease (and not seeing a cyst), we moved on to more important things, like the baby! She measured all the boring, yet important stuff, and then asked if I wanted to confirm the sex of the baby zoomed in on the bottom and froze the screen. I immediately asked why I saw "three lines"? She then told me that I was having a girl... not a boy! I was laughing I was so shocked. She mentioned that Dr. Albert is hardly ever wrong and wanted to keep "looking". So as we did, it was really hard to determine whether it was a boy or a girl. We'd see the hot dog one time, and buns the next. It was crazy. So we took a break because the little one was being somewhat modest. We moved on to the stomach, heart and little face! We tried to get a good profile shot, but the baby kept moving it's head. So we managed to get a head on shot, which always creep me out a bit, but here it is!
Then we headed back downtown to see if this baby was going to shed it's modesty and let us know once and for all it's sex! Well, did he ever! I'm not sure where he was hiding his goods, but he definitely wasn't shy the 2nd time around!!!!
We have about 5 pictures of his male anatomy just in case there is ever any question! We didn't make it out with any other great photos, but I know Daddy was happy to have confirmation!
