A Sleepover

Friday a week ago, the 18th that is, Olivia had a much anticipated sleep over with Kennedy! Julie and Matt were kind enough to offer to not only watch Olivia for us, but let her spend the night so we could go out for my birthday! Of course Olivia was so excited all day (all week really) and Denny and I were also excited for some alone time! :)

Olivia wanted to bring everything but the kitchen sink with her to Kennedy's house, she was having a little too much fun packing her backpack! But we wittled it down to her sleeping essentials, including her pillow! When we got to Kennedy's house she was anxiously awaiting Olivia and they immediately went upstairs to play! They really are such good little friends, it is so fun to watch them together!
Denny and I headed to Bob's Steak and Chop house for dinner and it was wonderful! Then, like very unexciting parents, we went shopping! I felt bad, but Denny was a good sport! It was my birthday after all! :)
Naturally the girls were up late whispering and giggling. From what Julie told me it was too cute! They kept wondering who was going to come in and tell them to be quiet... would it be Kennedy's mommy or daddy???? I think they finally fell asleep shortly after 10:00, which really isn't too bad! They were up early of course, so as we headed to a birthday party later that morning here is how I found Olivia when we stopped for gas along the way! She must have seriously been wiped out because I can't even remember the last time she slept in the car.
Since this sleepover Olivia has been insisting we do it again... and soon! So this coming Friday night we are going to have Kennedy sleep over at our house! Olivia has already told Kennedy "my mommy and daddy said we can't talk when we go to bed"! I really have no idea where she got that from, but it is funny! We have also discussed where the girls will sleep, what we'll have for dinner, and where Mr. Matt and Mrs. Julie are going while Kennedy is here. She is full of questions and such a planner! I am so excited to watch the girls play and listen them try to get to sleep! I'll try to be more prompt in my next post and let you know how it goes!!!!

Finally... the swatches!!!!

I was so excited yeserday when I checked the mail and saw that our fabric swatches for the nursery had arrived! Then I opened up the letter to find these teeny, tiny swatches.... Oh well, it's better than nothing I suppose! But here are the colors.... The top fabric is the inside of the bumper, the middle fabric is the outside of the bumper, and the bottom fabric is the welting and ties on the bumper, and the bedskirt!

I can't wait to see the finished product!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Yesterday we headed out to our first Frisco Roughrider game of the season! We went with several other families from our Bible study class and we had a lot of fun! It helps that there are 3 other girls all within a year of age of each other! So, needless to say, the kids really had a good time! We sat out in the grassy area in the outfield so they could run around, and they did just that! There was chase, rolling up the hill, and an occasional peek at the actual game! And of course a trip to the ballpark would not be complete without some peanuts, cotton candy, nachos and a hot dog!!!!

Olivia and Ally - It appears very innocent, like they are watching the game, but actually they were trying to climb the fence!

Olivia trying to roll up the hill! I don't know why they wanted to defy gravity!
And here is the foursome!
Ally, Olivia, Kennedy and Campbell
They look like they'll be trouble one day don't they?!

20 Week Sonogram

As always I am behind on updating! But last Tuesday, April 1st, we went in for our 20 week sonogram. After waiting almost 45 minutes, our perinatologist rushed in, took the measurements, said everything looked great, and was gone as fast as he had come in. It was quite uneventful, but that is a blessing! Everything looked great and he is definitely still a he and is measuring about a week ahead in everything. And he weighs a pound! Yea! It was so reassuring to hear that he was developing right on track and that his heart, brain, kidneys and such appear to be in good working order! Since the sonogram was so quick and the little one was slightly uncooperative, we weren't able to get a good profile shot. Below is the best we could do! Not great, but better than nothing, so I thought I'd post!

This weekend we ordered his bedding, it is a relief to mark that off of my list! As we were ordering it I said, "Oh, it's going to be so pretty!" To which Denny quickly interjected, "Um, no, it will be handsome!" And that I definitely think it will be! It is not at all babyish, it is dark brown and blue for the most part! They are sending me swatches of the material, so as soon as I receive them I will take a picture and post for all to see! We also ordered a super comfy chair that Denny and I are really looking forward to! When we had Olivia all we had was an antique rocker that was my Mimi's. Sentimental... yes, comfortable... not so much! So we knew for #2 we'd be investing in a good and plush rocker! Already the "baby" is being spoiled! Well, it's actually more us who will be spoiled! :)

Anyway, that is about all here! I hope this all finds you and your families well!
